36th Annual MOMA State Dart Tournament

MOMA Tournament Held in Rochester, MN

On January 26-30, 2022, the Minnesota Operators of Music & Amusements (MOMA) held their 36th Annual State Dart Tournament at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester, Minnesota. Participants from the state played in 501 and Cricket singles, doubles, and team events of all levels as well as a Mixed Trips 701 satellite event. Several American Amusement Arcades (AAA) league players competed against other dart players across Minnesota.

Winning Players from AAA Dart Leagues

AAA dart players had some top place finishes in the annual tournament. Aaron Rickard, a Park Tavern league player, won 1st place Level 8 in the 501 Singles event. Bill Eikmeier, a Clays Bar & Grill league player, took 2nd place in the Level 8 division of the same event. In the 501 Doubles event, Rickard teamed up with Kyle McDermand to take 3rd place Level 6 while Eikmeier teamed up with Mark Streeter to take 4th place Level 7. Rickard and McDermand also got 4th place Level 6 in Cricket Doubles.

Number Munchers won 2nd place Level 3 in the 501 Team event and also 3rd place Level 3 in the Cricket Team event (pictured above). Team members, who play in a dart league at the Park Tavern, include DJ Charley, Troy Hughes, Troy Kuchta, and Simon Anderson. Kuchta and Anderson also teamed up together to take 3rd place Level 3 in Cricket Doubles. The duo of Ali Hauer and Jamie Ohara (Roddy’s Bar & Grill league players) came in 2nd place Level 8 for the Cricket Doubles event event. Dennis McGowan, a Drkula’s player, took 4th place Level 6 in 501 Singles.

MOMA Donations

At the tournament, MOMA raised money for the MOMA Scholarship Fund. A select number of college-bound students with industry ties are awarded scholarships each year.

2023 Tournament

The MOMA tournament provides a great opportunity for players to compete against their peers and have a chance to win prize money and awards. The 2023 MOMA State Dart Tournament dates are TBD. Check the MOMA site for details.
